so i am starting to build my sump/refugium (spelling?) and my intention is to have a nice DSB and some LR and to cure some of the base rock i am making once its ready..... now as i begin the process i start to wonder about lighting a bit more for what i want.. i know i could heed my own advice and go with a clamp on with a 50/50 CFL bulb and that would be ok but i am wondering if i should go with another full sun light fixture like the ones i tore apart for my main display? they work real nice but the down side it a little more money....
so i guess i was wondering what some of you use in yours and the results of the lighting choices you have made....

I wouldn't use a 50/50 bulb as you really have no reason for actinics in a refugium. I would (and do) use a 6500k CFL bulb in a clamp on light. I made a few mods to the fixture; I took off the reflector and encased the bulb in white PVC, and added a piece of plexiglass as a splash guard. If you already have the PC fixture, I would go get a 6500k plant growth bulb from the LFS.
