I just built a miniature sump refugium that sits directly behind my 10gal due to the limited space I have available. My return pump is set up perfectly... however the intake is my problem. What is the easiest way to get water from the tank to the box without drilling or another or an exspensive overflow box. I got plenty of pvc but i just can't figure out a wayto set it up to start a syphon
CHECK THIS OUT i just made it for my 29 and it works wonderfully and even in the three power out tests i tried it never lost the syphon .... you just make it to fit your needs i love it!!!!
another thing i did that helped was on the return line i put a tee back to my first chamber with a ball valve on to chock the flow that way i could tune the flow and any extra pressure would flow into the sump and not burn out my pump....
I followed that model but i must not have done it right. I was getting very little flow. Then I realized that it's going to be right behind the tank so the only that would happen was the water levels would become even. I broke the pipe apart now it works fantastically. I wish I could post a video but I'll take some pics this weekend.
glad you found a way that worked for you ... hope you get a way to post pix at least
