Pasfur-advice needed

Pasfur, if you remember I had a post "What filter is this". You replied about making it an overflow box. I am ready to start the project. I am getting ready to start a 100g reef tank. Yes, a very long term project. It is 12"wide, 5" deep, and 16" tall. Compartment #1, the biggest, has a slot cut at the bottom, feeding into compartment #2. Compartment #2 feeds into compartment about 2/3rds of the way up. In the picture, compartment #3 is the one with the small box that sits in the tank. I think the over flow needs to bigger, and I can make the box. I really appreciate any help on this project from all the knowledgable people on this forum.

As for the thread, what is your question? I'm confused. If compartment # 3 has the overflow box sitting in the tank, this is the 1st compartment, not the 3rd. Can you take a sharpie and write 1, 2, 3 on the back of this thing and post a picture again? LOL It will be very helpful!

OK, I did reverse the compartments. Lets change the order. #1 is the compartment with the overflow and the 3 U tubes, #2 is middle, and #3 is the compartment for the drain bulkhead going to the sump. If this is still confusing I will post another pic. My questions, what size drain going to the sump for a 100g, would it be in compartment 3. Bear with me, I have never built an overflow box. I am also thinking I need a larger suction pipe than the 3 shown in the picture. Last question, will this black thing work for an overflow box, or should I purchase one.\?
I will try to post some pics tomorrow. One of my goals with this project is not to have to buy everything new
[mucho dollars] I picked up a used turbofloter skimmer with a aqua-medic 2500 pump, I am hoping this will work for a 100g. If not I can use it in my 58g tank.

Yes, the box will work fine as an overflow box. You just need to drill the hole for the drain line. Austin has a nice thread on sump designs here:

Looking at the Turbofloter Skimmer design, I think it should handle a 100 gallon tank.
