Question over flow assistance needed please

ok so having learned better its already to late to drill the tank but i want to get more out of my overflow... i just dont think i am using the return pump to its full potential... as my overflow line runs through a wall to the sump making a bigger over flow is out but i have some idea on a mod and would like your input..... i was thinking drilling through the side of the external box and running another line to the sump from there and i was also thinking in order to keep the flow over the wall high adding new tubes with larger inner diameter.... now another option (that would be a pain in the butt) is to build a second overflow box and run them both withe the pump on full power.. what do you folks think???? am i just asking for to much or can this work to my advantage?

how much water is being returned to your sump now and why do you think you need to increase the flow? if the flow is too fast in the sump you will have problems controlling micro bubbles entering the tank. if this is for your 50 gal tank then all you need is like 300gals/ hr return. i personally have a return like 400 on a 100 gal sps tank and my tank thrives.
