Odyssea light fixture

Does anyone know if the Odyssea 48" 216W (4x 54W) T5 HO Light Fixture is any good? It looks way too good for what you pay for it so im just wondering if it's a great light or a crappy light.

Odyssea was well know for its fire hazzards, I've never used one since I honestly can not go that cheap. IDK either if they have improved beyond not starting on fire. Most people suggest replacing the orignial bulbs with in a year and possibly the ballast cuz I doubt it will last very long. Which is why I would suggest just buying a better quality light to begin with.

Also thats a ton of light. What in the world do you need 216 watts of T5HO for, other then adding to global warming?

.... I'm probably drunk.

edit I just realized this is SW.

As far as picking a light, pay attention to efficiency as well. Quality is important especially considering the cost of those bulbs are $15-25 each, you don't want a cheap ballast thats going to flicker them or be overly variable. As far as quality goes you get what you pay for, which is why I either buy fixtures second hand or build my own. Another thing to consider is more wattage doesn't automatically mean more light. That one reflector really reduces your light efficiency. Also the lack of any cooling fans on the one odyssea I saw is scary. IDK of any other 4x54 watt light that doesn't have cooling fans. If it was lower powered 2 bulb unit it would not be an issue, but this puts out a lot of light and a lot of heat. BTW cooling vent does not equal cooling fan....
