Hey i just found out a very good mod... just let a water in the intake chamber that is suppose to be empty and let a airstone in the pipe and the noise thing is gone:D

Ok another problem!!!!!! the hydrometer needle wont go up i am freaking out! it wont do anything! is there something that i am doing wrong?

IMO hydrometers are garbage. even if you calibrate it with a refractometer theres still chance that salt build up will give inaccurate readings. if i was in your position i would get a refractometer and you can find one cheap on ebay.

for now try soaking it in alittle vinegar and water for awhile, then rinse, then test again.

and for future reference- creating a new thread for a new topic is your best bet for getting responses.

Motion seconded! A refractometer is well worth the investment. Takes 3 drops of water, about 30 seconds to test the water, and the results wont be swayed by the temperature of the sample.
