Need help finding the right bulb...

I would like to start out by saying that I am a beginner to saltwater tanks and that I have had a 55 gallon freshwater tank for years but now I want to switch to a saltwater tank for my apartment at college.

I just bought a 28 gallon tank from a guy on craigslist and I have been doing a lot of research on saltwater tanks but I am confused with trying to find the correct light bulb. The one light bulb that came with the tank is a 24"/ 610 mm size. How many bulbs do I need? The hood can only fit one bulb, so I would need to get a new hood if I wanted two different bulbs but I really want to stay away from doing that.

I want to do a fish only tank with a mix of live rock and dry rock. Can someone with some good knowledge of this topic point me in the direction of the correct bulb that I need. I would like to stay under $50 with the bulb. A link to purchase the correct bulb would also be really helpful. Thanks!

if you are not doing any corrals you should be fine if you want to do a few softies or just enhance the colors of the fish you put in a 50/50 bulb or a 10,000k bulb should be fine they are both made in t8 size (the size of your fixture)
that said if you want to get into corals a light up grade is needed down the road but starting with a fish only with live rock (FOWLR) is a good rout to go....

im almost 100% the cubes come with a power compact light in the hood. your best bet would be to figure out what brand cube you have then match up the bulb from there.

could you post a link to a site that would have a 50/50 bulb (t8 size, 24") or a 10,000K bulb? I am new to all of this so its hard for me to figure this all out. Thanks for your help.
