I have a 29 gal. tank that I plan to house two seahorses and maybe some bottom dwellers later on. I need a more compact filter. Has anyone heard anything about the Millennium 2000?
For seahorses Im pretty sure you need prestin water conditions. A millium 2000 wont be that efficient but for 2 weeks at the most. Do you plan to have alot of live rock. I ask this is because live rock is also a filter that cant be beat.
Yes I plan on filling my tank per guidelines when it comes to live rock. Will that be sufficient for bio filtration? I really just need something as compact as can be. Have you heard anything about the Rena Smart filter. Its said to be comparable to a canister filter but I really don't know.
If your going to fill it with 1-1.5lbs/gal of live rock just get a few power heads and you will be fine. On 3 of my saltwater tanks I have no filters except my 55 gal puffer tank. I have a magnum 350 canister filter w/ the micro filter in it. That is only because he makes a mess when he eats.
