Mh lighting?

I like the idea of useing 250 watt bulbs but I'm afraid that it would be way too much light for a 55 gallon tank but it would good if i were planning to upgrade......

That's only 10wpg, the exact same wattage I run over my 75g. I have 2x 250wMH+240wPC. You and I should have the same footprint, just my tank is taller. And as mentioned, you can grow into that lighting. That would be spectacular for an SPS dominated tank. Of course you could go with less if you wanted only softies or some LPS.
