Since you are running FOWLR, it is still a bit low, but it wont hurt. I do beleive (IMO), that FOWLR should have at least 1WPG, so I think you are low. Someone else may disagree though. However, if you want to keep corals ever, you need to upgrade your lighting.
You would need at least 3WPG, if not more. That is for the bare-minimum softies. You also need a fixture/bulbs that has 10000k-20000k. I have also noticed that fish seem to act better when kept under "proper" light.
As for night lights, definatley not nessicary. It looks cool, and some say it helps coral growth. Not needed unless you want it.

#3 | | | Proposing use of ADA light bulb
Hi there,
I've tried the below, i think at 15W but is much better in term of brightness compare wiv other light bulb.
This is the tank effect just this bulb
I've mix wiv Nirox Moon Bright, actually i wanted to buy the JBL marine blue but the size is out of stock.
When i open both, the color is nice and my blue tang seems to enjoy the ambience
Abit blueish compare to the original pink light that comes wiv set. |

What are the dimensions of your tank? | Coral I probaly will not add for another month to 2, my live rock has not turned color yet. Dimensions, about 20" w x 30" l x about 48" deep, give or take a couple inches on each of those. I will measure it if you need me to.

thanks again | Well, if ur lamp is lays on hood, take em out, check what is the connection of each end.
Try go to the nearest pet shop look for ADA, or do some online order.
How many bulb your hood can support. My 60 cm hood can put two bulb.
Do u have a chiller, if no chiller it will be tough times during summer, all coral will die.

I will keep the chiller in mind when I am ready to get coral, thank you for letting me know that.

Chiller is not needed. You can just use a fan, or you might not need anything if you live somewhere cold. But, a chiller does help.
Devong, here is a nice reef fixture for your tank (30") that you may want to look at: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...7&pcatid=13637 |
