Your lighting requirements will vary based on the corals you want to keep. MH and even T5s can be far too much light for some corals. I would recommend, for most corals appropriate for a 10g aquarium, that you seek out a small T5 fixture, PC lighting on a tank that size would most likely be sufficient, however it may even be recommended over T5 lighting if you are looking to keep more corals requiring low light conditions. Too much light can cause some corals to bleach out.
For the record, I use PC lighting and Ive had no problems with any of the softies and LPS corals I've housed. Growth and color have never been an issue either. I may still consider switching to T5's, but I was warned against it by a fellow club member who actually suffered losses and regression to his Softies when he made the switch.
