Believe it or not Fall and Spring are the times you'll most likely need a chiller, not the dead of summer. Say what you say? Sure, no problem I'll explain. In the fall and spring when outside temps begin to drop we often find ourselves turning down our AC or opening a few windows. These times of inactivity can easily cause the air in our homes to stagnate or rise a few extra tolerable degrees. Often it is our air conditioning that helps keep our tanks at or below 80F. It is this time of year when we enjoy the nice weather and our chillers begin working.

Keep in mind to monitor your tanks temps. Extended periods beyond 80F can wipe out reef tanks, especially those with SPS corals.
