How to rig my lighting

Hey everyone, I'm new to this website.
I have a problem with my lighting situation on my tank. I have a 24 inch dual satellite, and I'm trying to rig it onto a 30 inch tank. I can't find a glass canopy that fits my tank for some reason, and recently failed with plexi glass. If I bought mounting legs for my light, could I adjust the legs far enough for my tank? What would you guys do in my situation?

I got this light practically brand new for 20 dollars, thats why I didn't buy a 30 inch light.

1st saltwater tank lighting hood

I received a 40 gal Sea Clear tank for Xmas and it only came with a hood that had several slots florescent bulbs. So we got a florescent bulb at Petco. In doing some studying on newer lamps we then bought an LED and retro fitted it onto the hood with some plastic straps. Now we just have to figure out what light order to use throughout the day and night. Info is hard to come by sometimes. Our hood fits into the acrylic tank perfectly. For yours just make sure what ever you choose is that it is very secure. If you go to your local home improvement store someone there may give you some great ideas on what you could use to retro fit it. Take it with you. Good Luck.
