i am planning a sump and my tank is not drilled so i need and over slow, but i dont really want to spend 70 bucks :shock: unless i have too. so i was wondering if there is a way to make one for cheapper that works good
I have seen them done before. I have googled "weir box" & "overflow" & "DIY overfow" & "sump". I have actually seen one where the kid heated up and bent acrylic and added an airlifter in case of a power outage. I haven't seen anyone here build one, but the idea is simple. You need a box on the inside of the tank for water to be skimmed off the surface, and upside "U" tube or two to get the water over the wall of the aquarium, and a box to drill a spot for a bulkhead to transport water down to the sump.
