Heat

Does anybody know of any studies conducted to let us know how much heat is conducted with either powerheads or pumps and other equipment?
I have a lot of trouble keeping my temp down below 81-82 in my tank and I have a chiller. I am setting up a new tank so I wanted to do all I can to conduct less heat

Thanks
Roger

Someone on here said that if your powerhead is say 35-45watt, that is like putting a 35-45watt bulb in your tank. Now if you got 4x 45watt Powerheads(one for sump return, one for UV/Skimmer and 2 in the tank for flow) in your tank, like me, thats 180watts of heat going into your tank.
I have just got 2 new Tunze 6045(11watts each) to replace the 2 (45watt each) Powerheads I use for flow in the tank.
once again I could be wrong.

That is a reasonable way to judge powerheads and I've been saying that since day one around here. That is one of the reasons I always stress buying quality equipment and not junk. You can literally get burned with junk. I've been trying to switch everyone on the board over from high wattage/low flow powerheads to low wattage/high flow streams since the beginning. Words like Tunze, Eheim, Seiio, and Korallia flow off my tongue in every post. Some products are moe expensive to purchase but are huge money savers in the long run.

so what pump could I put in my sump to replace my Otto PH2000, it would have to be the same size as the old one.
other then heat, @45watts, I can't fault the old Otto's as I got 9years out of a very quite sump pump running flat stick, but these are 10-15 year old technology, maybe more and weren't thinking of watts= heat in water back then.
I'll get some measurements for where to pump can fit. I don't want to drill the side of the sump to put the pump external.
so I'd be after something the same but lower watts?
*Also, now that I've changed from bio-cubes to 300 Live Reef Plugs, am I able to UP the pump flow size in the sump from 2000ltr/hour or do they need the same sort of flow?

Its a Powerhead in the sump, its the biggest that Otto make and I just checked some old spare parts, they are 32watt which isn't as bad as first thought.
