good idea for nano

im sure someone out there has thought of this but take a hang on back filter and remove the filter pad ( only this part ive heard being done )
THEN put alittle live sand and some live rock rubble into the area where the filter pad should be.. walla! :D a mini nano sump!

Yup, this is very common. A favorite filter to do this with is the Aquaclear110 (500) because of its large size. It adds almost a gallon to your tank, and it can easily hold a light to light the refugium and to grow macroalgea (chaeto is the best IMO), along with LR/LS. Many, many mods are also done to this filter.
