Canister filter,Fluval 405?

I guess I put to much faith in my lps to at least get me started in the right direction. Anyway,is there anyway I can use the canister filter in conjugation with a protein skimmer for a fish, live rock, coral tank and what media should I use if I can even use it.

You can still use it for flow, and to suck up bits of crap. You will only need some type of mechanical filtration media, but you need to clean it often, and you shoule replace it with new media often too. Oh and buy the way its not lps. Lps is large polyp stony coral. I belive you meen lf, local fish store.

Fill it only with sponges and keep it sparkly clean. You'll tire of this and sell the filter.
