balast what are the differnc

are all balast the same? what do you look for? what do they do different?

Ok I just found some info on balist, but then my question still is the same but more spacific. are all electronic ballast created equal? what are the difference I am looking at electronic PC balist what ever that is?

there are 3 types of ballasts i think,magnetic,electronic and i think pulse not sure

Magnetic: over drive lights, making them brighter but wear them down faster sort of like the V8, it burns more and has to fill up more often with gas(lights in this case)

Electronic: starts with i think its 120ma? not sure and runs the lights more efficienty not burning them or over driving them so they last longer.esp when MH bulbs are about 40 bucks a pop for a decent mid watt one


not sure on pulse or if there is such a thing

thanks but what I ment was are all electronic balast created equal?

so if Ford made one and chevy made one they are all the same just a different company or are there difference in quality and performance?
