About the Red Zebra
Species Type: Freshwater Fish
Care Level: Easy. Does well in a slightly more narrow range of water parameters and shouldn't be used to cycle an aquarium. Will eat most prepared foods. May have some specific care requirements in terms of particular water parameters, social behaviors, food items etc.
Origin: Minos Reef/Lake Malawi
Compatibility/Temperament: They are preaty calm with most other Mbuna's (lake malawi) cichlids. This fish is fairly undemanding, and easy to keep, and along with its attrative colouration, Makes it a good candidate to be kept by both beginners and experienced hobbist
This fish digs alot, so undergravel filters are not recommended. Good tank mates should be other mbuna but try to avoid other short bodied Zebra species. Also Labidochromis Caeruleus are not recommened, because of crossbreeding may occur. This fish like's the bottom to mid area's of the tank. They swim into rock work for safty from other fish and driftwood.
