About the Barbucca Diabolica
Species Type: Freshwater Fish
Care Level: Very Easy. Will tolerate a wide range of water parameters including pH, temperature and hardness. Can tolerate higher nitrate levels than other fish and is hardy enough to withstand the cycling process. Will readily eat prepared foods and has no special care requirements.
Origin: Malay Peninsula and Borneo
Not much is known about this fish. The name Barbucca was said to be coined by Tyson Roberts in 1989 with only Barbucca diabolica as the member of its own genus.
It originates from forested streams so leaf litter, bogwoods and dense thickets of plants are very important as you aim to replicate its environment.
Barbucca Diabolica Diet
Like other loaches, it will relish invertebrates including brine shrimps, bloodworms and commercial foods.
Ideal water parameters for Barbucca Diabolica
The Barbucca Diabolica should be kept in an aquarium with the temperature ranging from 75 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit, and a Ph of around 6.5.
