Siamese Algae Eater "TRUE" question?

Hi,
I will making a trip to That Fish place tomorrow and I am wondering what to look for when it comes to getting theTRUE Siamese Algae Eater (what to look for?)... Also is there anything negative about this fish, will it eat plants?, or bother my other fish?.. Thanks...

Don't quote me ,but I believe true siamese algae eater has black line on side of body that extends clear through the tail, while the false siamese does not have line clear through the tail but stops at base of tail.
Course I could be wrong.
Under your aquariums, you list 26 gal tank?
This fish get's a bit large for 26 gal I believe.

The profile says they obtain 6", what's more interesting is that it says it is a shoaling fish and should be ideal in a group of 6 or more.

Our profile does explain the external differences, and there are photos. Click the shaded name in the original post.

And yes, this fish is shoaling by nature.
