Need filter/pump for 60g freshwater
 

Hello =) I'm new to these parts and am just starting my hobby with fish! I purchased a 60 gallon tank and need to know a not to expencive filter/pump. Anyone care to help? It is most appreciated!

How much are you looking to spend?

Aiming for under 100, just need a pump/filter thatl get me by for now

Either of these filters will get you buy. When you get some money you could run them both. And then You'd be set.

I would get the cheaper one first. It has bio-wheels and the beneficial bacteria will develop faster on that, then in the canister.

I am in the "same" situation, and I decided to go with the Emporer Power Filter 400. For the price, and for the fact that it moves 50 more gallons per hour. I am running it on a 55 gallon.
On a side note...when I went to the local Petsmart...the Emporer Power Filter 400 was 66 bucks.
I then produced the internet price.. that I printed off the PC, and the store matched it without incident. Furthermore...the Manager stated that the store will match any internet price on their site.
I have not set the tank up further...deciding substrates...ect before I get it started.
