How many jumbo neon tetras in a 8 gallon?

Hi!
I was thinking around 6 jumbo neon tetras in this tank (fully planted with dwarf hairgrass, flame moss, and some big plants for shade): Fluval Nano Flora Aquatic Plant Kit at PETCO

How does that sound? Can I put any shrimp, etc. in there?

Neons aren't the easiest to keep. They do need softer water, with a lower ph, say no more than 7.2 I would say 8 gal is just too small for schooling fish, who will prefer room to swim. 8 gallons would make a great tank for shrimp. What is your water like? Hard etc? Endlers are really pretty fish and very small, but they prefer hard water.
