So I have a pregnant swordtail whom I separated into a birthing tank, but is constantly freaking out. She can see the main tank, and constantly swims against the glass like shes trying to get into it. She seems pretty stressed out like she misses her companion, but I don't want to risk putting him with her.
My question is, will this cause problems for her pregnancy? I don't want to cause undue stress and have her abort, or stillbirth her fry.
Maybe you could try taping pieces of paper to the sides so that she cant see the other tank and wont swim against the glass. I did that with some of mine and it seemed to calm them down a bit.
