my plecostomus
 
hey iam new to this forum and i have a question.
every pleco i have seen has thick fins, mine has thin almost see thru fins. he's a common pleco. if anyone knows what this might be, either natural or other, please let me know. i dunno if hes sick or what

Its most liekly normal.....i have also some fish that have thick fins and others of the same kind having thin fins. To me its most likely common something not to worry about. It also might even get thicker pending on its age.

thanx! i dont know how old he is exactly, but hes been in my tank since he was about 2 1/2 inches long. and is now about 4 1/2 inches. hes been with me for 4 months now, and is my favorite of the tank.

Typically the difference is genetic based and nutrition based. As long as they're healthy, getting a well rounded healthy diet, and in good water conditions with enough room, I wouldn't worry about it at all.
