African featherfin catfish
Does anybody know about the african featherfin catfish and if it could go in a 38 gallon tank with 2-3 angelfish, 6 silver hatchetfish, a twig cat, and either a peacock eel, ropefish, or dragon goby. Thanks.
Mine is pushing 8 inches - too big for a 38. I doubt the twig catfish will be happy about the addition. A group of upside down catfish would be a better choice.
The ropefish will grow too big for a 38 as well. I know there are species of eels that stay small, but I don't know if they stay that small.
what about a foot long eel and/or a filter feeding 8 inch dragon goby?
I would say no to any 12 inch fish in a 38 gallon. I don't know anything about dragon gobies
so what about 5 glass cats and my clown pleco instead?
That sounds much better.
I think this might work temporarily, assuming you are leaving out the bichir, ropefish and goby, but the relatively small size of the tank bothers me since you have 2-3 angelfish...or are they not acquired yet?
The Glass Catfish is very sensitive and needs a suitable environment, as noted in the profile (click the shaded name). Attaining 3 inches, and it needs 5+ in a group, you are using space the angels will feel is theirs when they attain 6 inches and likely long before.
Thanks guys, so i was wondering if i could have 6 hatchets on the top, the 2 angels in the middle, 5 cories, 2 twig cats, and 1 clown pleco on the bottom and either 2 adf frogs (unless they're not compatible with the angels) and 1 snail or if these will be bullied or eaten a nine inch eel that will burrow and not attack the fish but will not allow itself to be pushed around?
That is correct, i am getting a 38 gallon tank and am moving some fish from my 20 into it. It is definetly going to have 2 angels (I already have 1) , 6 silver hatchetfish (I already have 3) , and 1 twig cat. I also want to put my 3 pepper cories in there and get 2 more and possibly put my clown pleco in there. My 14 cardinal and rummynose tetras will stay in mmy 20. Any suggestions you have for either tank I'd be glad to hear. I have a good fish dealer with many different types of fish so almot any suggested fish i might be able to aquire.
