Male or female guppies?
I should say, I'm very new to guppies.
Bought these guppies today at my LFS and they had males and females together in one tank. I only wanted females so I just looked for two that were 1) less colorful 2) smaller tail fin and 3) larger than the males. But comparing them to my female at home, these guppies are more colorful (she's just a so-so petsmart fish, though) and are shaped differently- they don't have the female rounded belly. Do you guys think I accidentally bought males??
Here's the pictures:the black-and-yellow-spotted tail and the yellow-and-orange tailed ones are the ones in question. http://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/...n/guppyone.jpg http://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/...n/guppytwo.jpg
They're males, they're too colorful and small to be feamles. Plus I see their gonopodium, which only males have. If it was a feamle it would be fanned out.

You are definitely right, I do see that now. The smaller one definitely set off my suspicions; I wasn't sure about the yellow-and-black spotted– he's the same size as my female– but now that I look for the gonopodium I see you're right. I was tricked into buying ugly males!

Thanks Mollylover! Yup I think they're pretty too... but you should have seen the other guppies in the tank! They were incredibly colorful! Guppies are beautiful!
