Hello I set my 30 gallon up this weekend my temp is good, salinity is good. I used a bag of live sand that I mixed with a bag of dead aragonite in the tank (CaribSea brand, layer over layer) everything is clear and looks really good I bought a couple of red reef hermit crabs who are doing well. Will this be OK for the cycle stage to get going ???

You might try the saltwater forum. Most of us here are primarily freshwater although there are bound to be a few who do both. I've been in the hobby for over 40 years but have never had salt water. I just admire them when I'm at my local fish store, then go where I'm familiar back in the freshwater area.

we need a little more info. for instance what do you have for filtration, live rock, sump, protein skimmer ect. if that is all you have in the tank rite now i might suggest gettin some live rock to help seed the tank with the bacteria needed for the cycle. and eventually a protein skimmer.
