5G, 10G, 20G and 29G Plant Growth Tracking

I will be posting pictures of my 5 Gallon Betta Tank, 10G Fry Tank, 20G Community, 29G Main Community.

I put Flourish Comprehensive in on Wednesdays and Sundays. Weekly Water Changes on Wednesdays. I still plan on planting a good carpeting plant and eventually a net of java moss across the back of each tank. Just need time ofc.

Any suggestions are welcome. I am also going to be keeping track of plant growth by posting weekly pictures of all the tanks in such details as bellow.

Feeding 4 Minute Video :-D:-D:-D of this tank :-D:-D:-D :

Looking very nice. Like I said in chat though I still feel that the heater in the 10 gallon needs to be swapped for something that doesn't detract from the tank's beauty.

EDIT: Also keep track of the sequence with your pictures. When you have about a month's worth of pics of each tank do a time-lapse video. That would be neat. Maybe you could do one for each month for each tank.

Now that is an idea! I am going to try and get the same angles every time I take the pictures :)

Nice tanks!

Just so you know, Mondo grass is not a true aquatic plant.. It might grow for a little bit submersed but it will eventually rot. I don;t know why Petsmart sells it as aquatic...

Just watch out for it. :)

Thank you!

Yeah I found that out after I bought it. It has been doing well for about 2-3 months, I cut off the bad leaves and will remove it if it starts going south. I do want to find a large piece of drift wood that goes out of the water so I can tie it to that and have to roots in the water.

I like the 29 gallon community! nice look, although the plants aren't swampy they look well placed, and gives a great effect!

Whats that little guy that hangs about with the corys at the bottom? light blue/grey with a black stripe on the eye.. is that some kind of cichlid? looks nice!

I am definitely going to look out for some of that flourish stuff... reckon my plants will be growing out of the tank after adding some of that! haha

Thanks!

I want to put more plants in there...hopefully a carpet of green!

Yeah with the amount of plants you have it will go crazy ahaha

The little guy at the bottom is a Bolivian Ram. He is doing great. When I first put him in though he didn't acclimate so well because the temp was a little high in my tank so he lost a lot o color at first. I put ice in the tank and lowered it for him and within a few hours he was doing better. He is a dwarf species of cichlid. I love him! The Blue Ram is a more colorful version of him but doesn't tolerate as wide of water parameters so I got the Bolivian Ram. He is such a good swimmer. Only chases the corys around at food time otherwise keeping to himself.

I actually entered a photo of him in the contest. It is one of the pictures near the bottom hahaha.

I actually have to feed him Cichlid food and not just regular flakes. It has Omega 3s in it. I just feed it to the whole tank.

do they not grow large? haven't read the profile for those yet... how are they for aggression and territory etc? ok with community fish?

I would say the Bolivian is the most peaceful of the cichlids...that I know of. He really just keeps to himself.

He pretty much ignores the Neon Tetras. I think they annoy him a little when they are playing/establishing dominance/spawning.

When ever the bolivian ram comes close to my Male Lyretail Sailfin Molly the Bolivian Ram (Burt Reynolds) shoots off. He doesn't like confrontation unless feeding. He will let fish go right up to him...touch him and not even move. Quite awesome. Although he wont let the molly which is bigger than him go near him lol only maller fish or of the same size.

I have only noticed him chase the Corys away when he is looking for food but he will only scare them off and then continue to feed. He doesn't keep going after them.

Males attain 3.5 inches, females 2.5 inches.

You could keep a pair in the 29 no problem. I wouldn't keep two males though.

He is a cool fish. Mainly swims in the bottom regions of the tank. Sometimes goes to the middle. I have only seen him once go up near the top. He is quite active, although he hovers in one place and then shoots to the next and then hovers again... seems like the most proficient swimmer because he appears to be in control 100% of the time.

im super stocked at the moment unfortunately, made a bit of a mistake and brought 4 botia kubotai not realising they grow to 5 inches... got 4 platys, 3 corys, 7 each of the danio and glow lights... so can't risk adding anything else other than MORE plants!! haha
