male molly mateing or killing
help! i'v got a male molly and a female molly with 25 guppys 4 tetra and 3 ballon mollys. i had another male but the other male kept pecking him. soon he died and there was a heck of peck marks on his body. now he is doing the same to my female who i saved from being crushed by a few rocks the day after she gave birth. now she has had more fry and im thinking that the molly might be hurting he or is he mateing. i poke him with the net when he pecks her but then he swims of and sulks behind a plant and he might die so i dont move him. what shuld i do i'v got 5 goldfish and a tank of baby guppies and mollys. i dont want to kill him but i dont want him to kill any more fish and certanly not the female molly. i put him in the goldfish tank but he went after coral my red cap and coralhas been missing 20 scales since.
Also how big is this tank?
it is about 1 or 2 gallons. that was the best we could afford
How big is the community tank?
A gold fish needs a bigger tank than 1-2 gallons. Same with the molly. For now because this is happening it should be fine but you should think about another tank for long term housing.
there is no space for one unless i can somehow buy another table:roll:! thanks though:-D
and i have a guppy tank too thats were the guppys ,mollys, neon tetra and baloon mollys live
That is why they sell stands that house two tanks
If you can't get the proper size tanks you shouldn't have the fish because that is just pure torture!
my guppy tank is 3 gallons and is too heavy even without water in it. the sponge fillter keeps the tank clean for 2 weeks. we don't need a heater because were i am there is a heat wave and the tanks are very warm and the fish are fine and i think that the molly is just trying to say this is my spot and you'r not allowed. thanks for the tip. and the only fish shop that is in my area sells upto six gallon tanks that is unless you want the 4560 gallon arowana tank ha ha.

34 fish in in a 3 gal tank is way to much its like a can of sardines
Try putting yourself in a closet with 33 of your friends see how comfortable you feel , than think about your fish .
keeping that many fish in one tank is not just cruel it's torture also INSANE!!
if you want your fish happy healthy and live a long life I suggest a 20 to 30 gal tank
talk with your LFS tell them how many fish you have in a 3 gal fish tank I bet they tell you the same thing I am
I have been raising fish over 30+ years so when I say 3 gal is to small for all them fish I mean it
If you care about your fish see if your LFS can house them till you get a bigger tank
you can find cheap used tanks on craigslist
I'm surprised your mom didn't stop you from adding all those fish in such a tiny sardine can
your young maybe you will some day see what I'm telling you
If I had a extra tank I would just send it to you just to save the fish
Maybe have your mom read what I said so she understands why you need a bigger tank
i don't have any friends. the fish are my only friends. as for my 'sardine can' that was my birthday gift and i was very happy with it until now. i spent every last second trying to get a fish and when i couldn't i gave up. then i got a gift of two guppys for my birthday. my mom was saveing up for five months to buy it for me. now if i tell her she would say that we couldn't afford it. i wont sell my fish because they are my best friends. so now i feal realy bad for ever wanting one. even though they are the best things that i ever had and i realy hate bettas for a very good reson. so now i think i am the worse owner and i cant take care of my fish even though i'v protected them for one year from my cat and dog. now i feal so bad even though i know that i should get a bigger tank.:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry: is not my choice:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry ::cry::cry::cry::cry:
