Pelvicachromis taeniatus moliwe ok guys, i have bought on impulse today  :) have any of you kept these gorgeous little things. ? i don't think there is anything wrong with the tank that they are in, i was just wondering if anyone has them. :) |
Well, as a matter of fact, I do. I currently have 4 spawning groups of this neat little fish. All are spawning. The male maxes out at a little ove 3" while the female attains maybe 2 1/2". (I tried to measure mine without taking them out of the tank, it's kinda hard to do. lol) They spawn in typical kribensis fashion. I use 4" and 6" clay pots carefully cut in half to for m a cave. Ph in their tank is a neutral 7.0. I use sponge filters and a gravel substrate. Their tank size is 15g(long). I have also added a little elodea to the tank to make it a little more appealling (to me at least) and help control the algae problem I had in their tanks. They are fairly prolific in that as many as 100 fry may be hatched in a single spawn. |
