All Glass Stand
Just got a new stand for my 75g tank. It's a pine all-glass stand. Question is... the one like this i had for my 55g the tank sat down in a recess. This one the stand sets on the edge. Is this the way it's supposed to be? It comes all
the way out to the very edge, I'm just not 100% sure of the structural aspect of it.

I'll bite....what is a "pine all glass stand"?
The weight of the aquraium, around 700lbs, will keep that 75 gallon tank right where you place it. No need for a ledge, or recess. No worry that it will slide off.
Am very curious to see a picture of this stand, can you provide one please?
If the top of the stand is all glass then it will need to very thick glass to prevent stress factors from forming...without a picture it is hard to visualize this stand.
hehe, you guys!
"All Glass" he is referring to is "All Glass Aquariums" the company that makes almost all of the 'standard' aquariums sold in the US. They also make aquarium stands ;)
Here is a link I found for it: All-Glass AGA brand pine cabinet 48x18-oak fob-0 special shipping
Not endorsing the store, but it was the first on on google when I searched for it.
The question I have is... On most of the pre-fab stands I've bought in the past, the tank sits down in a recess about 2" and is on solid vertical boards. In this instance though, the tank actually sits on top of the stand on the horizontal boards that frame the vertical.
Here are some pictures for example.
The very last one isn't my personally, but it shows kind of what I'm talking about. If you'll look at the back right hand corner, you can see the vertical boards that my 55 sits on in a similar stand. You can also see how the stand sits on the "lip" of the stand.
After I posted the original thread, I did a few google image searches and found many pics of the tank sitting on that lip though, so I'm guessing that's how it should be.
