Finally planted my 55gal
I got a 55g and stand for about 2 months ago and had a grand plan for planting it. unfortunately I didn't really have the money to do what I wanted so it has sat like this for a couple of months. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...s/IMG_0384.jpg
I was starting to get a little annoyed with it so I decided to forgo my grand plan and plant the tanks with some plants that I already had. It's just Cryptocoryne Wendtii, Cryptocoryne Balansae, and Java Fern windelov, although I may add one or two plants. I also want to make a background. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...is/full2-1.jpg

Looking much better!
Another small (and cheap) thing you can do to really make it stand out is to tape some black poster board onto the back. You would be surprised how much that helps, and can make it look like there is more depth than there really is.
Good progress and your 20gal looks amazing! Well done!! :)

Here is a little update on this tank. It's still not where I want it to be. I used the bulbs that came with the light fixture and I really didn't like the results. I added another 6700k light and it seems to be doing much better. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...alb6-11-12.jpg
