Breeding Gouramis

I gave my sis my female Golden Gourami because my male was giving her serious injuries. Now she is with another male gourami is sis' tank. Its a colorful Paradise Gourami. So far its been smooth sailing. My question is- Is it possible for two totaly different gouramis mate?
