Is My Platy Prego or Chunky?
Well I got Platies about...eh...a month or 2 ago. I have one sunfish, and one red wag platy, and I just added (today) a black calico platy. They are all supposed to be male...though...now that I look closely at the red wag, and can't be certain he's a he...
So my red wag (Boabab) seemed to be chunky from day one. Then more recently I noticed a growth in belly size.
Is it pregnant or just chunky?
I will attach some pictures, please tell me what you think.
I have never breed fish, and it makes me very nervous....what should I do if it is prego. And where can I sell the fry? Because I can not keep them.
That's a female, and she looks pretty gravid.(pregger) I have seen posts on here where it is said you can sell the babies back to the lfs (local fish store), but I have not tried. I doubt they would take small fry, so you may have to keep them for a while. Then you won't want to sell them.
Dang. OK, thank you.
If you look at your local fish club, you may be able to find some one that wants the babies to feed to their fish. I wouldn't have hopes of selling them, though, depending on your area you may have to give them away.
Also, if you don't want future babies, find her a new home now. The babies will just keep coming. Livebearers can store sperm for 6-9 months after a breeding, so she'll keep dropping even if she's separated from males.
yep i has to to be pregg mine is the same size but it aint pregg mines a male (He is fat as 'Ell )
