lightinf for cichlids ???????
 

i have a dual fixture and both bulbs turn on at same time there t8 bulbs

so whats the best lighting for them without an algae bloom

im haveing only rocks.

That light is fine for cichlids.
I know some people who have T5HO lights on their tanks but only run them full intensity for 5-6 hours.

It is more to do with the duration the lights are on than the type of light. I have 2 Marineland Double Bright LEDS on my 75g tank, the big 180g tank has 4 of them. I got a good deal on them all from a fish store which closed down. Keep the lights you have on for about 7-8 hours a day and everything will be fine for them.

Remember as well, some algae is good cichlids as they eat it in the wild.
