african cichlid lighting i need helpppp
im really confused about this
i have a lighting fixture for fluorescent bulbs from homedepot and im wondering if t5 bulbs would work in it.
Coralife High Output T5 10,000K Lamp Aquarium T5HO Bulbs
would this bulb in the link work in it ??
or would only t8s work in it.
also whats the best lighting for cichlid tank i have a 2 bulb fixture and both bulbs turn on at the same time
T5 tubes will only work in a T5 fixture. If the fixture is T8, which is the "regular" type, then only T8 tubes will fit.
Aside from this, T5 HO tubes are considerably more intense light than the same type/size in T8. And this can affect fish. You can read more on this here:
Assuming you have a T8 fixture, good tubes would be tubes that are cool/full spectrum as these will bring out the natural colouration in these beautiful cichlids.
