Filling up after a water change....
I'm sure most of you use a hose or "Python" like system for cleaning and filling your aquariums (especially those 30 gallons and up) but, doesn't that mean straight tap water goes in? Won't the chlorine harm the bacteria and fish? I know there is water conditioner but, when do you add it? Before filling or after?
Help a newbie out. I'm tired of buckets. :?
I must admit only if it's a bigger water change, more than 10%, will I use conditioner. Usually I'll add some while it's refilling.
Well if you wanna add the conditioner then the bucket system is the only way you can really water change, thats why I do. I just take some water out of the tank, dump it then get more water and add the conditioner before adding the water back into the tank.
i add prime straight to the tank water. also treat the whole tank. so 100 gal tank is treated for 100 gallons of water. havent had a problem in all these years yet.....
