i could do with abit of help,i,v had my tank up and running for about 4 months i waited for the cycle to kick in before adding any fish,i do gravel cleaning and water changes every week.

i bought some guppies the other day from a pet shop 2 days later 1 of them died, day after another 2 died, and when i woke up this morning one of my old guppies had died to,i feel abit helpless,as im new to this.

i have a 125 liter tank
fluval 206 external filter
we put an air stone in a few days ago,has loads of bubbles, but the not popping strat away,

have 2 silver tip shark
3 rainbowfish
4 swordfish

I am lost what are your water parameters??

gwynnie 03-07-2012 05:22 PM

sorry forgot to add them,,amonia level is 2.1,ph level is 6.5,and nitrants is 0.1mg

dmuddle 03-07-2012 05:28 PM

have you asked your local pet store what equipment they had you will probably need some chemistry kits to fix this. ph and ammonia are linked so maybe change your ph

gwynnie 03-07-2012 05:31 PM

i havnt asked them, cause every fish i have got from there have died all the other 1's that are still alive i bought from aquarium place :-)

dmuddle 03-07-2012 05:34 PM

maybe its just the fish??

gwynnie 03-07-2012 05:37 PM

it could be,just the fish from there, what about the nitrite, the amonia was on a higher level than that, but it is coming down niclely

gwynnie 03-07-2012 05:39 PM

sorry to be a pain, but would rather do it properly then have no fish at all,and thx for all the help your giving me
