Moving to a Bigger tank tips?

Hi i want to move my 1 swordtail, 1 mickey mouse platy, 1 male betta, 15 fry (swordtail and mickey mouse platy), and 3 common pleco's ( yes i have realised that that 3 is alot but they are still young and ill find a solution soon) from an 8 gallon to about a 20ish gallon tank. Any tips and cycling tips? :) thank you

hi
i would say move everything over to the bigger tank,
gravel.decorations,water,filter, plants
run both filters if you can for a couple of weeks,
that will give the new filter chance to grow its own
bacteria colony.
if you are unable to run both could you possibly put
the media from the old filter into the new one.
then i would check the water conditions to watch for
a mini cycle,
hth :)

Canisters do not take space inside the tank whereas filters such as sponges do.
