pH parameters

I bought a water testing kit for pH today from API. It's just a basic pH kit, one with a test tube and drops. According to the color chart provided with the kit, my tap water is at 7.6 pH. This seems a bit high, considering I would like to eventually have betta. What can I do to lower the pH?

Unless you plan on getting a wild caught betta I dont think it will be a problem. However try leaving water in a glass for 48 hours then testing it. PH from the tap can change as chemicals in the water are gassed out.
