Possible ich/ick on my oscar Irgent
hey guys my red oscar has what might be ich/ick but im not sure if it is ich/ick it looks like missing scales cause i do have some aggressive fish but he is laying around but is still very active at feeding time so does he have ich/ick or just missing scales.
Impossible to say without seeing a picture.
I don't see ick, but I do see some missing scales. Also, it seems to have little to no markings. My experience with Oscars has been that they will eat anything they can swallow; however, they are not necessarily aggressive toward fish closer to their own size. Is it being bullied ? What other fishes do you have with it.
sadly two black convicts and a very calm JD I will be looking for a new home for the convicts, i do have a common pleco and an electric crawfish though.
JD are generally not that calm, a lot of aggression usually takes place when we are not around.
I do not see any ick on him but am a little worried about the betta, can you post a clearer picture at all?
Convicts usually would not bother an oscar unless they are breeding and he is straying too close to them.
Try treating him with Melafix and see if his scales come back, the tank is also a little small for him which means if there is any aggression he would be quite prone to catching himself on things. The color is a little off what a Lemon would usually look like but this could be down to stress.
Thanks taz i will post more pictures of the betta but the oscar was always that color even at the pet store and everytime i go back there the other oscars look exactly the same a lightish yellow gray type color.
Do you have any pictures of the Betta bowl at all?
(edit, ignore this request, just clicked)
Hey guys, I can not seem to get a better picture of the betta so should i treat it with ich/ick meds if the spots get bigger? and should we move him to a seperate tank so if it is ich/ick it wont infect the other fish?
The fighter looks like its face is diseased, the scales look green
