Hi everyone, i am upgrading from a 20 gallon to a 38 or 55 gallon. I hope it's the 55! The demensions of the 38 are 36L X 12W X 20H and the demensions of the 55 are 48L X 13W X 21 H. If I get a 38 i'll have a pair of angels, some hatchetfish, and some peaceful catfish (twig, cories, small pleco, whiptail) and if i get a 55 i'll have the same setup with a couple more angels and bottom feeders, and some black phantom tetras. Any ideas or comments? Thanks.
Do the 55 :) Just be careful how many bottom feeders you add.
The 55g will be better if angelfish are intended, as then you can have a small group (5 works well). If you get a "pair" they will have to be a true male/female pair that will tolerate each other (not all males will accept any female), and that is not always easy to tell in small (immature) fish. If they turn out to be two males, one will almost certainly be killed in time. The group spreads out this natural aggression.
