What kind of fish are these guys? 2 Attachment(s) |
Convict on top.. and I wanna say Jack Dempsey on the bottom but it does look off especially the tail. Maybe a sevrum of some kind. |
should i try and get a better pic of the second one? one of my friends said oscar but im unsure really. |
The top one is a cobalt blue cichlid AKA Cobalt blue zebra(Pseudotropheus Zebra) The bottom one is a Green terror (Aequidens rivulatus) They usually don't develop the tail pattern until they're older though... Yes, they're aptly named. They'll more than likely grow up to uproot your plants and kill each other. (the other fish will likely be killed first if there are any.) |
i have about 25 fish in the tank with him, he is always nice and calm and never picks on anyone.. you think he will eat all my other fish when he gets older?? |
they both will. They're both pretty aggressive, and very incompatable. They're both aggressive, and prefer different water parameters.. Green terrors need a ph of 5.5-7.0, and the cobalt needs a ph of 7.5-8.4 How big is the tank? Both can get close to 12 inches long too. |
I gotta disagree with you Red and stick with my convict cichlid ID. The mouth looks much to high for a pseudo and only seeing the faintest blue tinge which is normal for a convict. Also the top and bottom fins(Dorsal and anal?) seem to flow to much, as opposed to the more rigidness of a pseudo. |
55gallon right now and the top one is already a few years old, the other one is about 8 months old |
