CF retrofit question
Would I be mistaken to think that a 65 watt 24" CF retrofit kit is to replace the single tube 20 watt light inside my light fixture? I ask because I have a hood with a light fixture that fits and matches the rest of the tank. but I need to get better light than my single 20 watt bulb. Those Coralife setups that sit high over the tank without a lid look nice and normally I wouldn't mind it. But this particular tank is a living room decoration so I would like it to look a little less like a science experiment. So I would like to if I can replace the guts of my current light with better guts while keeping the same outer shell. If I am correct about the purpose of these retrofit kits it there an instruction page somewhere or is it too simple for that. I just want to make sure I buy the right thing.
From what I have read and heard form others, the retrofit kit will fit directly inside a standard light fixture. You remove everything down to the shell and place the new kit inside it.
Sometimes, there can be a heat issue from using CF which can be fixed by getting a small fan thgat is wired right in with everything else.
