I am sick of fake plants
I have decided to go live plants, are there any good ones that gouramis love, considering that they are anabantoids i would think floating plants.
I think they'll accept any kind of plants, you should choose your plants rather according to light, sand, and other conditions..
Personally I'd say get a amazon sword since youve got the space. Ive got like 15 sparkling gourami and they love to search these little floating ones I have, I bought like a spoonful of them and in a short time they covered the surface of my 75 gallon. Heres an over and under shot of them in my small snail tank.
okay thanks, I love my gouramis, they are the apple of my eye and I want to give them the best treatment i can
If you love them, give them many plants, they'll like it.:)
This is definitely on the right track. Gourami occur in swamps and still waters thick with vegetation, so you can never have too many plants. And the bubblenest species use floating plants to build their nests.
Floating plants are mandatory, and one of the best is Water Sprite. Its depth of leaves and roots provides lots of cruising ground.
Lower plants can be difficult with thick floating plant cover, so crypts and Java Fern do well planted lower down. These are all in our profiles.
Cheers, I will be getting a mix of variating plants I guess
