Hello everyone!

My name is Alaina and I've been fish free for four years... Wait, wrong group.

I have just gotten back into a full aquarium (only 10 gal for now) after a long, child inspired break. In the past I've bread bettas and kept a small aquarium setup with barbs, guppies and some other easy fish. Now that my son is 5 we're sharing the fish/aquarium project so he can learn to care for animals properly and I can have my tank going again. We'll be starting with killifish eggs while we get the tank up and running and planted. I'm glad to have found this community since I have a feeling this will be the start of the fish obsession for me again and already I've found some amazing info! Looking forward to seeing everyone in the forums.

Just a side note, despite some newbness, I want to assure everyone that despite my starting my son with fish, we don't see fish as expendable ;)

Me: Mom to two boys, two cats (Dr Fido Mousemann Joes and Jojos), two birds (Orpheo and Narcissus, Cockatiels), one snake (Cy, ball python) and one betta (Bishes, HM crowntail) and soon one orange spot pleco and a hand full of killis.

hello and welcome to tfk :) This will be a great adventure for you and your son, my 5 year old melee
nephew always loves watching the fish in my tank when he comes over and the couple of times when I have let him "help" me feed the fish he has gotten a thrill out of it.
