my guppy is having babies right now :]

I've been able to watch!
This is sooo amazing
It's so cute too!
She's in a little plastic container with a drop down, made for fry.
She's had about 5 now, they are all running around the bottom right now, they have the yolk so they can't really do too much.
I have some pics I will post as soon as I find my camera/comp cord
:D :D :D :D

hi
congratulations :)
i have never been able to see when mine have given birth,
i just wake up in the morning to a tank full. :)

ASmileForOnlyU 11-18-2007 06:01 PM

ha yeah
well its weird, none ever make it
most dont come out of the ball and some that do, just die in a hour or so
but today, after taking her out and leaving the dead and living babies (bout 14 of them total) in there little tank, i came home to 1 still alive and doing great!
So I took out all the dead babies and moved the live one to a smaller little floating tank.
I hope this little survivor lives!

hi
:shock2: only one survived ?? :(
is your guppy girl very young ?
is this her first batch ?
sorry for the questions,i can't understand why yours
never make it.

ASmileForOnlyU 11-24-2007 01:53 PM

that's the 3rd batch that's died with her...
That 1 died after 2 days too... It seemed healthy and was eating and everything too...

willow 11-25-2007 03:04 AM

that'a awful. :(
i don't understand why you're loosing them ??
have you tried just leaving them in the tank, and not
moving her or the babies ?

Guppy babies dying??

I have been succesfully breeding Guppies for over 3 years now, and have NEVER had a whole batch die, usually some, or most get eaten, I have however had a MAMA get too big and Die.. I think she had 22 babies that time..

ASmileForOnlyU 12-07-2007 12:27 AM

well i have bad luck with them.... i had a gorgeous female i'd had a month or so and right when she was about to deliver, i came back couple hours later to check on her and she was dead....

And since then, I lost 7 of my 9 guppies.... I have 1 fire colored male left and plain female that i've had 7 months and she's never gotten prego... I'm very upset and mad... They looked perfectly healthy

willow 12-08-2007 03:43 AM

oh no :(
you have about as much luck keeping guppys as i do keeping Rams. i don't know what to suggest to you. :(

Sorry for the dumb question but these are "Fancy Guppies", correct?

How can you tell males from females?
