Help me decide on a few more fish!
Hey, I want to add a few more fish. I have a 56 Gallon :) in it i have
-1 Gold Gourami
-1 Pearl Gourami
-1 Red-Tailed Botia
-1 Long finned Black Skirt Tetra
-3 Congo Tetras
-2 Emerald Green Cories
-1 Juili Cory
-1 Peppered Cory
-3 Bleeding Heart Tetras
I know I know about the you should have at least 5 or more fish in a school etc well.. i did they have just died off lol :( these fish have lived together for almost 3 years now peacefully :) i dont really wanna get more of the ones i have as you can see there is not much colour in my tank now :(
i want some new colourful fish..that can live peacefully with these ones!
I'm guessing from the fish you have in there, your water is soft and acidic? You could try cardinal tetra, neon tetra, or rummynose tetra. All are very colorful and when maintained in a large school are absolutely gorgeous.
Gwen is right about the plants. I've never seen fish shine so much as when they are kept in a planted tank. Floating plants are also great. I noticed that a lot of your fish are fish that look best under diffused light which floating plants help create. Maybe instead getting more colorful fish you should try to increase the numbers of the schooling fish and get them some floating plants.
