netting fast fish I have a tyrant in my 30 gal. aquarium! The Chinese Algae eater has to go! He is only 2 inches long and already chasing my Pearl Gouramis!! I want him out and into a tank with fish he won't terrorize. The catch (excuse the pun) is, how to net the guy without tearing my whole tank apart and also not traumatizing everyone in it. |
If you have 2 nets then use that to box it in. Go very very slowly and then strike with the nets quickly when you are near. Turn the lights off in the tank as well, if you can see well enough without them. You might end up taking the tank apart though, they sure are quick little S**T's |
or use a box or a measuring cup and drive it in with your net once hes in you just take him out of the water quickly since hes in the cup with water in it , it will minimize stress |
netting fast fish ok excellent, I'll give both ideas a try and get back.... stay tuned.... if you hear far off yelling, that would be me :-? |
netting fast fish done!! 20 min. two nets and I had to remove the driftwood......Now, everyone in the tank looks like this .:shock:Thanks lots . Lights are out and its quiet here, so I'm hoping all will be much happier in there in an hour or two. Thanks again guys. |
nice to hear you got him! the fish will recover fast you will see! |
thank you for your help. You are right about the fish, they look better all ready.... they are probably very relieved to have "evil one" out of the neighbourhood. The algae eater doesn't seem at all upset, he is surely looking for new victums to torment.... ..... lol |
 for you catching him :blueyay: - reaction of the fish for being released from their tormentor. :frustrated: - reaction of algae eater now he has to find something else to torment. |
hahaha, exactly thanks |
